 ABOUT IFORM FITNESS STUDIO

I•FORM FITNESS STUDIO OPENED IN 2015.

I•Form Fitness Studio opened its doors in 2015. Owners David Twiford and Melissa Hummel share the same philosophy in personal training: to improve the quality of people’s lives. They genuinely care for their clients, helping them to accomplish things they never thought possible. This includes alleviating chronic aches and pains, recovering from an injury, or discovering the correct body mechanics to prevent future problems. David and Melissa’s first priority is helping people. It’s why they went into the profession and it remains their core value as they continue to grow I•Form Fitness Studio.

The name I•Form Fitness was selected while David was doing an internet search for “health, shape and fitness” looking to step outside of the box for a unique identity for the studio. “I•form” was the definition of those words in Danish and voila– I•Form Fitness Studio was born.

DAVID TWIFORDPERSONAL TRAINER
David has cultivated his passion for fitness since his early 20s. He was encouraged by friends and family to become a personal trainer which led him to study with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) in 2006. David hasn’t looked back. From there, he refocused his life goals and now dedicates his time and energy to helping his clients create lifestyles that are healthier, giving them an aptitude and competence to keep up with their busy lifestyles.

David currently holds many personal training certifications including Senior Fitness, Strength and Conditioning, and Group Fitness. As a personal trainer, he makes it a priority to attend professional fitness seminars and workshops every year to stay on top of current health education and the latest trends in the ever-changing world of fitness.

David loves spending time with his children and is proud of their accomplishments. When he is not with family, David finds his peace of mind in a kayak, on his trail bike, or hiking a mountain trail.

MELISSA HUMMELPERSONAL TRAINER
Melissa graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She completed her internship at the Hilton Head Health Institute in South Carolina where she helped people improve their lifestyle through education of fitness, wellness, and nutrition. After her internship was complete, she continued to work on Hilton Head Island as the Fitness, Spa & Recreation Manager at the Westin Resort. Melissa coordinated all personal training and fitness classes, led the recreation department in corporate wellness and children’s activities, and managed the spa department. Four years later, Melissa moved to Orlando, Florida to become the Fitness & Spa Manager at the prestigious Isleworth Golf & Country Club in Windermere, Florida. In addition to managing the fitness facility and personal training she specialized in golf fitness training.

After giving birth to her first son, her family moved back to Pennsylvania where she was a personal trainer and Parisi Speed and Performance Coach at Spring Valley Athletic Club. From there, she moved to Sunshine Fitness Studio in West Reading.

In addition to specializing in golf fitness and being a running specialist, Melissa also has a great deal of experience in post rehabilitation and working with special populations such as people diagnosed with Osteoporosis, Arthritis, Spine Curvature Disorders and Cancer. Her certifications include American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Physiology, Titleist Performance Institute Golf Fitness Certified, TRX Suspension Strap and Rip Trainer certified, VivoBareFoot Running Coach.

Melissa loves spending quality time with her husband and two sons, especially when there is fitness or sports involved. She has completed six marathons and several half marathons which show her extraordinary passion for running and continues to complete more races each year.

JULIE BUNNICKYOGA TEACHER
I daylight as a full-time graphic designer and began my yoga journey in 2001 when I signed up for a free class at the gym. Afterwards, I knew I needed to learn all I could and share it with others. Do you want to be better at everything that you do? Have improved concentration, balance, strength, stamina, and be able to stay in a tough situation when that’s called for? Then try a class, see what comes up, face it head on, peel back the layers of could-a, should-a, would-a and find yourself. Because that’s really what it’s all about.

I am a member of Yoga Alliance, earning my 200-hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) in 2004 in Philadelphia; completing my E-RTY (1,000+ hours of teaching) in February 2013; and I was certified in aerial yogic arts at yoga underground in Chadds Ford, PA in 2014. I continue my aerial education at Float Yoga in Lititz under the auspices of Bradford Nicarry. And in addition, I am TRX QUALIFIED in Suspension Training and Group Training.

BENITA BATESYOGA TEACHER
I began practicing yoga in 2010. I soon realized that I was on the path to discovering who I am. Yoga has cultivated a new way of being, and I have now turned my practice into my journey. I have made it my personal mission to share with others what I have learned, and continue to learn, through the practice of yoga, and to create meaningful practice for all. I received my 200 Hour RYT in 2015, in Lancaster. PA. I have a Masters in Education.

At I•Form Fitness Studio, David Twiford and Melissa Hummel will provide you with an experience of a unique and private environment in your training. We specialize our studio by appointment only and not a “gym” environment, therefore, providing a true personal training session tailored to your specific goals

David and Melissa have a unique niche in the personal training environment. They have experience working with all ages. Both have worked with special populations such as stroke, heart disease, osteoporosis, spinal disorders and cancer patients. The two of them help people with post rehabilitation to regain quality of movement from injury or joint replacement and correctional exercise for injury prevention.

GOLF-SPECIFIC PERSONAL TRAINING

Titleist Performance Institute Golf Fitness Certified Assessment is a series of movements and exercises that determine if your body mechanics are working properly for your swing.

It tests balance, flexibility, stability and strength in the muscles and joints that directly correlate to your swing. After completing the assessment you will be given an exercise/stretching program to improve your weaknesses or imbalances.

Titleist Performance Institute Golf Fitness Assessment Package $150 – Includes two sessions, assessment, one additional personal training session.

SWING INTO ACTION

WOMEN’S GOLF CONDITIONING

This golf conditioning class is led by Melissa Hummel who is Titleist Performance Institute Golf Fitness Certified. This year round weekly course is geared towards improving your golf game by focusing on flexibility, strength, increasing upper and lower body stability, improving balance and rotation, and boosting stamina.

Offered every Monday at 10:30 AM
Cost: $20/class.

CHALLENGE YOURSELF

Born in the Navy SEALs and adopted by premier athletes, TRX is scientifically proven to improve total-body strength, stability, and even cardiovascular health. Suspension training makes gravity your resistance, so adjusting the level of difficulty is as easy as moving your hands or feet, and progression is limitless. TRX empowers everyone to be their best selves.

Offered Thursdays at 5:30 PM.
Cost: $15/drop in or purchase a 10-class card for $120 (includes a free 11th class).Payment can be made at the studio with cash or checks only.

TRX CHISEL SERIES
A four class commitment, Saturdays at 8 a.m. we will use the seven basic movements in suspension training to improve mobility, flexibility, strength, endurance, power, core strength, and heart health. And we’ll have a blast doing it! Series payment of $55 must be paid at the first class. The studio accepts cash or check only. Limited to the first 8 people who sign up online.

VINYASA YOGA

Find energy you didn’t know you had while building strength and stability. Join us for an upbeat, creative flow that matches steady rhythmic breathing with sets of flowing yoga postures. The physical challenge increases your strength and empowers you to use your body the way you do in real life – bending, stretching, lifting, reaching, and twisting. Practicing yoga will help you clarify, relax, focus and concentrate in your everyday life. No prior yoga experience is necessary.
